Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how the Verdela mobile app (“Verdela”, “the app”, “we”), developed by Hasanain Alhamedi, handles your information. By using Verdela you agree to this policy.
The short version
- Verdela has no accounts and no sign‑in.
- Your settings, favorites, custom blends, and notes are stored only on your device.
- The optional AI assistant sends the text you type (and a random app id) to our server, which forwards it to Google’s Gemini to generate a reply.
- The app shows ads via Google AdMob, with a consent prompt where required by law.
- We do not collect your name, email, contacts, photos, or precise location, and we use no analytics or crash‑tracking SDKs.
Information stored on your device
The following stays on your device and is not sent to us. It is removed when you uninstall the app or clear its storage:
- App settings (language, theme, onboarding status, ad‑consent choice).
- Your favorites, custom blends, and personal notes.
- A random installation identifier (a string generated on your device) used to apply fair‑use limits to the AI feature. It is not your device ID and is not linked to your identity.
The AI assistant (optional)
When — and only when — you use an AI feature (chat, blend suggestions, recommendations, or per‑oil questions), the app sends the following to our service (a Cloudflare Worker) over an encrypted connection:
- the text of your question and recent messages in that conversation;
- the identifiers of oils you’ve marked as owned (to tailor suggestions);
- your app language code; and
- the random installation identifier described above.
Our service forwards your request to the Google Gemini API to generate the response, and returns it to your app. Requests may be temporarily cached (keyed by a one‑way hash of the request) to improve speed and stay within free limits, and a per‑install counter is kept briefly to enforce fair‑use limits; both expire automatically (within about 48 hours). We do not use these to build a profile of you. Google processes the request under its own terms; see the Gemini API terms and Google Privacy Policy. Please don’t include personal or sensitive information in AI prompts.
AI answers are generated automatically and may be inaccurate. You can report or flag any AI response from within the app (the “Report” action on a response); reports are stored briefly so we can review and improve content safety.
Advertising
Verdela displays banner ads through Google AdMob. To serve ads, Google and its partners may collect and use device and advertising identifiers and limited usage data, as described in Google’s policies. Where required (e.g. in the EEA/UK), the app shows a consent form the first time it runs, and you can change your choice at any time from Settings → Privacy / Ad options within the app. Learn more in How Google uses information from AdMob.
Permissions
Verdela requests only the Internet permission, used for the AI assistant and to load ads. It does not access your location, camera, microphone, contacts, or files.
What we do not do
- No accounts, logins, or passwords.
- No analytics, crash‑reporting, or tracking SDKs of our own.
- No selling of personal data.
- No collection of name, email, contacts, photos, or precise location.
Children
Verdela is a general‑audience wellness reference and is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent age in your region). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
International processing
If you use the AI assistant or see ads, the relevant requests are processed by Google’s infrastructure, which may be located outside your country. Those transfers are governed by Google’s policies.
Security
Network requests use encrypted (HTTPS) connections. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we keep what little data passes through our service minimal and short‑lived.
Your choices & rights
- Stop the AI data flow: simply don’t use the AI features — everything else works offline.
- Ad consent: change or withdraw it any time in the app’s settings.
- Delete your data: see our Data deletion page.
- Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data — contact us and we’ll help.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected here with a new “Last updated” date.
